Building on the successes of Town Gas, we are creating a new youth-led not-for-profit enterprise at Troy Town Pottery to offer a socially and economically sustainable manufacturing and teaching facility based in Hoxton. Lead ceramicist Aaron Angell and potter Ned Davies are working with a group of six local 18-24-year olds to make terracotta gardenware, which will be sold at various shops, nurseries and galleries around London and the UK.
We believe in the creative potential of manufacturing and our aim is to establish a distinctive model of ceramics production in east London, operating at a scale that allows for high quality products to be made, while at the same time providing high-quality training and paid employment opportunities for local young people.
