			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The first of CREATE&#8217;s 2012 major commissions has been announced. </p>
<p>CREATE and London 2012 have co-commissioned Frieze Projects East  as part of their commitment to bring the best artists to east London in 2012.  CREATE is delighted to be working with Frieze Foundation and bringing their internationally-renowned programme to east London for the first time! </p>
<p>The project comprises of a series of specially commissioned site-specific, public art works in east London that will seek to engage both local audiences and visitors to the area.  The series will launch on 25 June 2012.  </p>
<p>The commissioned artists include Çan Altay, Sarnath Banerjee,  Anthea Hamilton and Nick Byrne and Gary Webb. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last year&#8217;s CREATE Art Award, Assemble&#8217;s &#8216;Folly for a Flyover&#8217; has been nominated for one of Design Museum&#8217;s &#8216;Designs of the Year 2012&#8242;. The Design Museum’s Design Awards, &#8216;the Oscars of the design world&#8217;, showcases the most innovative and progressive designs from around the world, spanning seven categories: Architecture, Digital, Fashion, Furniture, Graphics and Transport and Product. A high profile judging panel will decide the best entries in each of the seven categories. Category award winners and the overall winner of the Design of the Year Award 2012 will be announced at an Awards event in April 2012.</p>

An invention by artist Gavin Turk and designer Ben Wilson, it allows four people the opportunity to ride a bike contraption as a community. Designed for the View Tube in East London, next to the Olympic Park.
