M11 Link Road
Stretching from Hackney Marshes to Redbridge, the M11 Link Road was completed in 1999, after passionate protest against the demolition of 400 houses that stood in its way. The artist Graeme Miller has filled the empty spaces these buildings once occupied with a treasure trail of sound celebrating east end life. Twenty radio transmitters constantly broadcast spoken and musical recollections of the buildings that were torn down. Receivers can be collected from Leyton, Leytonstone, Harrow Green and Wanstead Libraries, Redbridge Museum and the Vestry House Museum.
