Banner Repeater is an artist-run reading room and project space in Hackney Downs overground station, with a collection of artists’ books for browsing and purchase. The permanent collection is home to Publish and be Damned’s public library. The railway platform provides an apt location for artists to consider personal and social space. 24 June: Launch of Monaco Magazine issue 3, with readings and performances by contributing artists including Jennifer Bailey, Côme Ciment, Rosie Cooper and Ariella Yedgar, Sofia Coppola, Jenifer Evans, Will French, Babak Ghazi, Dominique Hurth, Kathy Noble, Eddie Peake, Paul Simon Richards, Patrick Shier, Gordon Shrigley, Giorgio Silverio, Charles Veyron and Jessica Wiesner.Through 30 June: Stuart Elliot and Tom Wolsely (Architrope) examine the relationship between transitional spaces and organised structures. 1-2 July: One to One is a series of one-on-one performances with Dave Charlesworth leading participants on imagined journeys through rural, industrial and future Britain (book in advance on bannerrepeater147@yahoo.com). 3 July, 3pm: The follow-up One to Many ties the strands together on a trip to the Lea Valley. 8 July, 6-9pm: Filmarmalade and Marmalade is a night of live and video performances by Carlos Noronha Feio, Plastique Fantastique and Gordon Shrigley. 16-31 July; opening night and performance 16 July, 6-9pm: the artist/architect/curator Julika Gittner explores social structures that have the potential to govern or order our lives.
