Young Peoples Afro-Caribbean Carnival

  • Carnival procession from 1pm, live on stage from 2pm
    Leyton Cricket Ground, High Rd Leyton, E10 6PY

    Over a 1000 young people from across Waltham Forest bring carnival and dance to the streets of Leyton. The celebration continues with a packed programme of music and dance featuring The Dennis Bovell Dub Band, lovers rock from Sandra Cross, six times winner for best female singer at the British Reggae Awards and Kofi, comedian Nabil Abdul Rashid and your compere Platinum FM’s Geoff Schumann.

    The line-up for this year’s Carnival includes the Young London: Into Music 2009 mentees the Stow (voted Best New Act 2009 by the Metro), Max Pashm and the Romany Diamonds, Mecca to Medina and the E17 Crew, Groove Control featuring Rising Stars, Bigga Bloco, Scrappy, DJ Policy and the Urban Development Vocal Collective.
